Sofia's 3 Year Stats
As of Sofia's 3 year check-up on the 28th, she is...
30 lbs 4 oz = 50th percentile
38.0 in = 75-90th percentile
On her physical and developmental exams she scored A+. She seems to be growing just as she should.
On the other hand, her food alergy testing showed that she's no longer allergic to egg whites but her allergy to milk (not lactose) went up from a Low level to a Moderate level. Hopefully one day she'll out grow it. Until then, it's continuing the milk-free (especially cheese-free) diet.

2nd Birthday Stats
We just returned from Sofia's 2 year check up. She cried from the moment we got out of the car until we were walking out the door to leave the doctor's office. Here are her stats:
Weight: 24 lb 14 oz (25-50th percentile)
Height: 35.5 inches (95th percentile)
Head: 18.8 inches (75th percentile)
She only got one shot this time around; Hepatitis A.
Sofia is now home and happy watching Caillou.

18 Month Stats
Sofia's 18 month doctor's appointment was today (2 weeks late). Here are her stats:
Weight: 23 lbs 15 oz (50th %)
Height: 33.3 inches (95th %)
Head: 18.5 inches (75th %)
No shots. She had a finger stick to measure her Hemoglobin. It was 12.6. I have no idea what that means.
The doctor was impressed that she loves vegetables so much.
Her next check-up is the day after her birthday.

15 months
Sofia's 15 month appointment was today. She did okay... meaning she screamed and held on to me like a monkey. She got 4 shots; DTaP, Hib, Polio and Hepatitis A.

32 inches (95th percentile)
We were given a prescription for an epi-pen because of her reaction to dairy foods. The last thing that caused a reaction on her face was the powder on french onion sun chips last weekend. The pedi wants us to have the epi-pen on hand just in case. He also gave me orders to get her blood drawn for a respiratory allergy profile and a food allergy profile.
The pedi said she should have at least 2 to 3 words down for now. She says "dada" when my cell phone rings or when she sees Dave so we counted that as one and now she also says "gaw-gee" when she sees Lucy so I guess that counts as a second. We're supposed to keep encouraging her to continue talking (like she doesn't babble enough as it is... hehe).

One Year Stats
Sofia is now...
20 lb 7 oz (50th percentile)
30 1/2 inches (95th percentile)
Since she has met her two milestones, 1 year and 20 lbs, she gets to use the big-girl car seat! That's a good thing because her legs were too long for the rear-facing infant carrier.
I'll try to get a picture of her in it when it's not so darn hot outside!

Happy 9 Months
Update on Sofia's 9 month stats...

No shots!!! But she did get a finger prick to check her iron which is 11.8 (they prefer over 11.1... whatever that means)
Also the doc had us take a little survey about the things she's doing to see how she's developing. She had a "yes" on everything on the 4 page list. He said he would be happy with half yeses! I guess Sofia's a little advanced!

6 month Check-Up
Sofia is now 15 lb 13 oz (50th %) and 26 inches long (75th %). She also got 4 shots and an oral vaccination today. She did pretty well with all the shots!
As we expected, the doctor projects she will be walking around 9-10 months instead of the "normal" 12 months based on the fact that she's been crawling for 2 weeks already. He also said that her second bottom tooth should come through any day now! We are to continue covering her in lotion a few times a day and should start introducing her to a sippy cup... that'll be a fun one! Adding new foods to her menu every few days is also right on schedule.

Happy 4 Months
Sofia is now 4 months old!
At her doctor's appointment today they measured and weighed her. She's now 13 lb 10 oz (50-75th percentile), 25 inches (90th percentile) and her head measures 16 cm (50th percentile). She also got the same 5 immunizations she got at 2 months; one orally and 2 in each leg. This time she only cried for about 30 seconds. Much different than last time when she didn't stop screaming until we were half-way home. The doctor also gave some suggestions to help with her dry skin; CeraVe moisturizing cream and Hydrocortisone 1% cream.
We also went to visit the Proctor's and see new baby Jonah. It's amazing to think that Sofia was that small just a few months ago!
I'll try to post pictures this weekend.

She started again shortly after we got here. Hopefully she'll calm down soon!

One Month Check-up
Today Sofia had her one month check-up at the pediatrician. She now weighs 9 lbs 12 oz (75th percentile), is 22 inches long (90th percentile) and her head is 14.5 cm around (50-75th percentile).
She also got her second Hep B shot. She didn't like it at all. She turned a lovely color of tomato red and stopped breathing for a few seconds because she was screaming so hard. It wasn't as bad for me as I expected it could have been, but it was by no means pleasant. We go back in a month for her 2 month check-up and the doc mentioned that next time she'll get many shots. Oh joy.

Sofia's 2 week (+ 2 days) Appointment
We (my mom, Sofia and I) went to Sofia's 2 week appointment today. They say they are happy if the baby is back to birth weight (7 lb 14 oz) by 2 weeks and Sofia has surpassed that. She was 8 lb 11 oz today. So, any worries about her not getting enough food are out the window! She's in the 75th percentile for weight, 75th percentile for head size and 90th percentile for height (21.3 inches).
Sofia also seems to be having a growth spurt since she can't get enough food right now and wants to feed every 1 - 3 hrs... she was eating every 3 - 5 hrs until the past few days. Luckily this afternoon she finally made it back to 4 hrs between feedings so maybe the spurt is over for now (I can only hope; it will allow me to sleep a little more).
Update - I shouldn't have said anything... she just fed again after 1.5 hrs...
As for my appointment, I can now drive! WooHoo!!! The doc said my incision looks good and I go back again in 4 weeks to be checked again.

NOT EXACTLY HOW WE PLANNED IT, BUT...
Our daughter Sofia Rose was born on Monday, June 25 at 6:20PM by c-section and weighed 7lbs 14oz measuring 21 inches.
We went in for the last doctor's appointment before our scheduled induction on the 26th. On our way home, a woman in a minivan failed to look in our direction at an intersection and pulled out in front of us.
Time slowed.
There seemed to be plenty of time in which to stop.
Time and space ran out before that happened and we broadsided the van.
The car was instantly filled with airbag smoke and the horn was stuck on.
I called for an ambulance.
The lady repeated over and over "I didn't see you".
In reality she never even looked in our direction.
An ambulance took us to the hospital we were to visit for our original delivery. I had spoken to the OB while in route and informed him of the situation.
Upon arrival, they X-rayed Penney's chest because the seatbelt had really dug into her hard and she was having very bad chest pain whenever she moved. After we were cleared from the E.R. we were moved upstairs to labor and delivery where her doctor and high risk OB decided c-section would be best considering her chest pain (and inability to exert pressure) and possible unseen trauma to the abdomen which may complicate a natural delivery.
She was prepped for surgery and off we were.
From the time of the accident to the time of delivery was approximately 3hours.
Mom and baby are doing well. Mom's a little bruised and her incision is painful as expected.
I am in pain and tired.
