Happy 13 Months, V!

V turned 13 months today!

She has figured out how to "rock" in her rocking chair.

She was so happy!

Sisters.

Her favorite mode of transportation lately.

As of today, her vocabulary includes:
 Mah = more (or milk, depending on what she's going for)
 Mama = Mommy
 Dada = Daddy (though she doesn't say this one much when Daddy's around)
She's also trying hard to say "Bye" and "Hey". She's also imitating other sounds and syllable patterns. It's quite cute.
She has also finally started to wave at people... sometimes.

V at 1 Year

So, I tried to get pictures of V in her chair on 3 different occasions. This is as good as it got.

At her 1 year appointment, these were her stats...
Weight: 18 lb 12 oz (10-25th percentile)
Height: 30.5 inches (95th percentile)
Head: 17.3 inches (25th percentile)

I believe she's underweight because she spent most of the last 2 weeks sick and not eating much. She had an ear infection that ruptured at the same time she had a week long fever from hand, foot and mouth disease. When she finally got over all of that it was time for her 1 year shots at her appointment. Poor thing.

Happy 11 Months, V!

V is now 11 months old. It's hard to believe that in one short month, she'll be a full year old!

She pulls up on just about everything and is a super fast crawler!

Happy 8 Months!

V is 8 months old now!

She's starting the month babbling things like "guh" and "dada". She's crawling like a speed demon and pulling up, mostly on people or toys.

Happy 6 Months

Vivian turned 6 months yesterday. Today, Dave took her for her check-up and shots. She is eating cereal, oatmeal, apples, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, squash and peas. She has been crawling for several weeks and has 2 teeth growing in.

Weight: 15 lb 12 oz (50th)

Height: 26.3 in (75th)

Happy 4 Months

Vivian had her 4 month check-up today. She scored A+ for her physical and developmental exams and handled her shots well. Here are her stats:

Weight = 13 lb 8 oz (50th percentile)

Height = 25.0 inches (90th percentile)

Compare to Sofia at the same time:

Weight: 13 lb 10 oz

Height: 25 inches

Vivian - 3 Months

Vivian turned 3 months today!

She didn't like sitting in her little chair so we tried the big one.

Sofia came in to help out!

As of now, Vivian makes several guttural sounds with her throat when she's trying to talk. She loves smiling at faces and she smiles very much with her eyes. She started rolling over today and once she figured it out she couldn't be stopped! She still likes to snack all day instead of drinking a lot of milk at once. She also takes cat naps (10-30 min) most of the day with one long (2-3 hr) nap in early afternoon. She's typically awake 1 1/2 - 2 hours at a time.

Vivian - 2 Months

Check-Ups

Yesterday I took the girls in for check-ups; Vivian's 2 month and Sofia's 4 year.

Sofia has strep so she didn't get her shots yet. We'll have to go back in a week or so when she's all better (but she doesn't know that yet).

Weight: 34.4 lbs (50th percentile)

Height: 41.5 inches (90th percentile)

She passed her hearing and vision tests and, other than the strep, seems do be growing well!

Vivian luckily didn't have strep so she did get her shots... poor thing.

Weight: 11 lb 5 oz (50-75th percentile)

Height: 23.3 inches (90th percentile)

Head: 14.9 inches (25-50th percentile)

She is also growing and developing as expected. :) A+

When it was time for the ticket blaster machine she was all ready to go alone until it started up and her hat and goggles came off.
The second try included Daddy helping out. It went much better!
The next morning while we cleaned Sofia's room to make space for her new toys, Vivian got to hang out on Sofia's bed with baby and Caillou. For some reason I don't think Vivian enjoyed it very much... :)

Happy 1 Month

Vivian's 1 month appointment went well. She's growing like a weed.

Weight: 10 lb 1 oz (75th)

Height: 22.0 in (90th)

Head: 14.2 i n (25-50th)

Grandma and Grandpa bought V her little chair. It finally arrived.

2 Week Appointment

Vivian's doctor's appointment went well.

Weight: 9 lb (75-90th %)

Height: 21.0 in (90th %)

Head: 13.8 in (50th %)

We then headed to the hospital for her PKU Newborn Screening. While there we learned of an awesome trick! Give the baby drops of sugar water and she won't cry at all during the foot prick and squeezing blood onto the little paper thing. If you take a newborn for any type of bloodwork stuff, you should try it too. It's magic!

Sofia's 3 Year Stats

As of Sofia's 3 year check-up on the 28th, she is...

30 lbs 4 oz = 50th percentile

38.0 in = 75-90th percentile

On her physical and developmental exams she scored A+. She seems to be growing just as she should.

On the other hand, her food alergy testing showed that she's no longer allergic to egg whites but her allergy to milk (not lactose) went up from a Low level to a Moderate level. Hopefully one day she'll out grow it. Until then, it's continuing the milk-free (especially cheese-free) diet.

Start of Summer

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted. My summer didn't begin until a week ago and in the past week I've tried to get caught up on all the doctor and dentist appointments we've been putting off for me and Sofia, in addition to throwing in swim lessons and still showing our house... Needless to say, it's been very busy around here.

One afternoon, Sofia put several of her stuffed animals to bed. They were covered with a blanket until I moved it to see what was underneath.

After Daddy got home on Sia's birthday, we took a trip to Build-a-Bear where Sia picked out a pink flamingo and named it Amingo.

We ended the day with cupcakes!

The next day Sofia got to play in her new flower sprinkler twice. She (and Daddy) had a ball.

Sia's last official day with her in-home daycare provider was on Monday. She's been with her for 2 years. We'll miss you!
