What a Weekend

Saturday morning, the morning of the "painting party", I woke up puking. I got sick at 8 AM and again at 10:30 AM. Then Cori, my mom and Dave's Aunt Donna (thanks guys) came over around 11:30 to paint the nursery. It looks great! I spent all my time sitting in a chair outside the room watching them. I felt so helpless.

(I'll post pictures of the nursery after we get the crib put together)

My stomach wasn't feeling any better so around 2:30 (after they finish painting and eating) I called my ob; I also had chills and body aches. He determined I likely had a stomach flu of some sort and called in 2 anti-nausea prescriptions for me. Cori went to pick up the prescriptions after my mom and Donna left (thanks Cori) and then I was left home alone with the dog. One of the anti-nausea pills made me sick again about 30 minutes after I took it, but the other one worked and put me to sleep. I slept from 6 PM on Saturday till basically 11 AM on Sunday (I did wake up a few times to go to the bathroom, drink water and answer the phone).

I was feeling a bit better on Sunday and made it to the airport in the evening to pick up Dave from visiting Auntie Weesa and Uncle Billy William.

This morning I woke up feeling great, like nothing had happened!

Then on my way home from work today I got a call from the doctor's office. I failed my 1-hr glucose tolerance test with a 148. I'm not sure what it's supposed to be but I'm not happy. I have to call a Lab Corp office to schedule a 3-hr glucose tolerance test now. If I fail that too then I have gestational diabetes and that sucks. Oh, and I also have to start taking a prescription iron pill. Oh the joys.

I still feel bad about you getting sick :(

If I was a real friend I would have gotten sick with you! Just kidding I am very glad that this morning you feel better, can't wait to see the room.

Yes, I too was banned from the painting of the nursery. Do not feel badly about taking an iron suppliment-it seems that many preggies must do that as well. I did. I will keep my fingers crossed on the diabeties test.
