Notes from the trip:
- Never take a road trip longer than 2 hours with a small child
- The San Antonio Zoo appeared to be an equivalent of the Dallas Zoo
- The Riverwalk is pretty
- Saline pools are cool
- The Alamo is small and there was always a line to get inside
- Most people we ran into were very nice and friendly
- Watching the men's swim team win the gold live Sunday night (Monday morning in China) was super cool
- The Wyndham La Cascada has awesome beds!
- You can't ever go wrong with a hurricane from Pat O'Brien's
- Trying to waste 3 hours while waiting for your hotel room to be ready with a very grumpy, tired kid then finding that it will be another 35 minutes past check-in time before your room is finally ready really sucks.
- The 130 toll road is apparently not the one you're supposed to take to get around Austin during rush hour.

Road trips with little ones aren't too bad if you have seats that lean back and you take turns driving at night! :) No matter what you do, unless they are sleeping - it is impossible to keep them entertained for very long in the car... You know that joke of "are we there yet?" Kids REALLY do ask that 4 thousand times on a road trip. Really! Looks like y'all had fun, you'll have to try the driving at night trick and visit Colorado again!!!
Love the first family vacation pictures!
